Jiri Bouska opened the meeting of the Board and was happy to see that all Board Members managed to attend the meeting. He informed on the developments and highlights since the last meeting in March 2017.

Jiri’s hope to get an important contract for removing graffiti in Prague did not materialize. Competition in this field is extremely tough and focuses on the price only, forgetting important criteria such as quality and social reintegration of long-term-unemployed persons, which is an important point in the offer of RCS.

The Board supports the conclusion of Jiri to focus the acquisition process on medium and small cities, who are believed to take quality and social integration arguments more seriously.

In Uvaly the cooperation with the town hall follows the plans and is really successful. It was possible to transfer 4 of the 8 RCS-Collaborators into the first labour market.

RCS integrated a workshop for sewing in the high-security prison of Vinarice (1150 inmates) into its operations. All involved persons consider this a success.  In the workshop with approx. 400m2 surface forty inmates work for well-known producer of luxury-cars and deliver quality upholstery.

As the demand in this sector is very large and quite a large number of inmates are eager to work, RCS plans to run a third layer (3 x 6 hours per day instead of 2 x 6 h) and to increase the workshop to approx. 800 m2 and 80 workers by next spring.

The Board agrees with Jiri that the initial concept of the project for reintegrating long-term unemployed persons must me adapted. This many due to the fact that the Czech Republic is doing very well in the field of economics. Unemployment in CR, and especially in Prague and the Mid-Bohemia, is even lower than in Switzerland. This induced the unemployment insurance to reduce its subsidies in the field of reintegration.

Due to this fact, the Board supports Jiri’s endeavours to refocus the activities of our company to more promising sectors.
